Just thought I would post these stats for your consumption. The sources from these numbers are primarily drawn from two sites. Alexa is a commonly used resource for estimating what a site really gets in terms of traffic/influence. Compete.com estimates monthly traffic figures and does not provide data for sites that fall below a certain ranking or any new sites.
Given the newness of Jukepopserials and its active presence on multiple forums and Tumblr, I expect the site statistics to continue climbing over the next few months. The only thing that probably will hold it down in terms of actual pageviews is the requirement to log in to see beyond the initial chapter of a serial.
Initially I wanted to talk more about the differences between these sites for creators, but may choose to focus my thoughts into “groups.” It seems hardly fair to compare largely self-publishing sites Wattpad and Fictionpress (Group A) against sites that curate material and/or pay their writers (Group B). They have different philosophies entirely. I suppose when I get to covering the sites (and what I find inside them), I’ll be doing it according to “Group.”
If it looks like I’m missing any sites, let me know. Thanks!
